  • MTCVI graduates that complete 1,800 clock hours in classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in the Adult Echocardiography Program will be eligible and encouraged to take the national certification examinations. Although credentialing is not required for employment, it is highly recommended and encouraged for students to meet a majority of employer requirements. Students qualify to sit the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) exam and/or for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) exam.

  • Currently, tuition for the thirteen month Adult Echocardiography Program is $25,000.

  • Yes, Middle Tennessee Cardiovascular Institute (MTCVI) is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. This authorization must be renewed each year and is based on an evaluation of minimum standards concerning the quality of education, ethical business practices, and fiscal responsibility.   • The average class size is small. Only 8-10 students will be accepted into each class.

  • Uniforms are required for the Program during classroom and clinical instruction, and include scrub top and pants. During classroom hours, students may wear scrubs that are any color or any pattern.

    During the clinical portion of the Program, all students must wear navy blue scrubs.

    Students are welcome to purchase their uniforms at any store available. Students may contact the MTCVI Program Director for any questions regarding uniforms.

  • In an effort to comply with the recommendations of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the majority of the major healthcare facilities and agencies utilized by the Institute for clinical training require that each student undergo a background check and a urine drug screening. Students seeking enrollment in this program must provide evidence of a passing score on a background check and a urine drug screen. Either the failure to provide the required results by the due date established or the receipt of anything other than a passing score will make a student ineligible for enrollment in this program.

    The background checks and urine drug screens are performed at the student’s expense.

  • Classes begin in April of each year.

  • We accept applications year round.

    After your application is received and processed, you will be contacted to schedule an in-person interview.

  • Classes and clinicals are conducted Monday-Friday. This is a full-time (up to) 40 hours a week. program.
