Clinical Education

MTCVI utilizes Clinical Externships to provide students with education through “real world” experience at Clinical Affiliate sites. Students bring their knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and Scanning Lab to their assigned clinical site. Here, students will practice alongside experienced Sonographers while caring for, scanning, and working with live patients. Students will be assigned to perform the regular duties of the department’s technologists, but will not be assigned tasks that are not educational on a consistent basis. Students will not be scheduled for rotations (regular or makeup) on days that MTCVI campus is closed.
